This excursion will take you to one of Venezuela’s highlights, the highest waterfall of the world, the Angel Fall or Salto Angel, with almost 1.000 meters of free fall from the Auyantepuy table mountain. A one hour flight over endless Gran Sabana will bring you to Canaima with his lagoon and 7 impressive Water Falls. On the excursion over the Canaima lagoon you will be impressed by walking behind on of the Fall,” Salto Sapo” , you will enjoy the bath in the Water of the Carao and Chrun river. On a boat trip in a wooden dugout you will reach the Angel Fall and a short hike through rainforest will bring you to vantage point right in front of the Angel Falls. You will spend a night in the jungle camp in front of Angel Falls.

Itinerary

Day 1. Ciudad Bolivar - Canaima
Our expedition begins with an transport at 06:30 AM to the airport. A flight will bring over the jungle in a small light aircraft from Ciudad Bolivar to the Indigenous Pemon Village of Canaima. In Canaima we will be met by our local English speaking guide who will lead us to our camp for lunch. In the afternoon we go on excursion to the Canaima Lagoon with his Falls the Ucaima, Guaraima and Hacha Falls. A 10 minute hike will bring us to the impressive Sapo Falls and we walk behind its thundering curtain of water, should the weather conditions allow for it. We spent the night in our camp in the Village of Canaima in beds. ( - / L / D )

Day 2. Canaima - Angel Falls
Early in the morning we continue by boat on the river "Churun" up to the island "Raton". After arriving at our camp on the banks of the Churún River, opposite the Falls, we will commence a 1 hour hike through the jungle which will lead us to the Mirador Laime vantage point, from where we can take in a spectacular view of the Angel Falls. We will then venture on for 10 more minutes until we reach the small pond at the base of the falls, where we can enjoy a swim in the cold waters flowing of the Falls themselves. Finally, as the afternoon fades away, it will be time to walk back to camp, where a nice warm dinner will be waiting for us before we fall asleep in our hammocks and mosquito nets under the mighty shadow of the magnificent Angel Falls. Day 3. Angel Falls - Ciudad Bolivar
We go downstream on the river Carrao. We pass the island of orchids and the ¨Pozo de la Felicidad¨-Fall until we get to the upper part of the Hacha Falls in Canaima. From there we drive to the airport and take the plane back to Ciudad Bolívar about 15:00. ( B / - / - )

Please note

This tour can be done in the rainy season between June – Dec. Depending of the rain and the water level the boats can reach Angel Falls even in the dry season. Jan. – May.
